Subjects were asked to indicate the correct dose for 2 children. Finally, subjects were shown a pediatric dosing chart that had dosing listed by both age and weight and contained a note that dosing by weight is more accurate. The subjects received a score of 0 or 1 if the measurement was done incorrectly or correctly, respectively, for each of the 3 devices.
The investigator observed the subjects measuring 3 doses of medicine using a cylindrical spoon, medicine cup, and an oral dosing syringe and noted the accuracy of the measurement. The total performance score was determined, with a maximum obtainable score of 11. The participants were also tested and scored on their ability to measure liquid medicines and interpret dosing instructions accurately. Demographic information was also obtained. Participants were shown 7 liquid dosing devices and were asked which they had in their homes and which they had ever used for dispensing liquid medications. President Lech Kaczynski was a man who stood proudly and defiantly for democracy and human rights through even the most difficult times, Prime Minister Stephen Harper Thursday mourned the tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, saying “whenever Poland grieves, Canada grieves.” Addressing thousands of mourners at a memorial mass in Mississauga, Ontario, Harper said the fact that this tragic event took place so near Katyn and the marking of the 70th anniversary of the massacre of Polish officers at Katyn by Soviet secret police. Kaczynski, his wife and many high-ranking Polish government and military officials died Saturday when their Tu-154 plane went down while trying to land at a military base near Smolensk in thick fog. Harper on Monday declared Thursday as a National Day of Mourning for Kaczynski to show Canada’s solidarity with the people of Poland and the Polish-Canadian community as they deal with these profound losses. Harper Tuesday announced that he will attend the state funeral of Kaczynski and his wife Maria on Sunday at the 1,000-year-old Wawel Cathedral, the main burial site of Polish monarchs since the 14th century, in the southern Polish city of Krakow. The people of Poland can draw strength from the 1 million Canadians of Polish descent who have made immeasurable contributions to this country, Harper added. OTTAWA Canadian political leaders were united Saturday in their sadness following the tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, saying “whenever Poland grieves, Canada grieves.” Addressing thousands of mourners at a memorial mass in Mississauga, Ontario, Harper said the fact that this tragic event took place so near Katyn and the marking of the 70th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of Poland’s military, political and intellectual leadership is a cruel irony indeed. We would like to pictures to this page showing examples of Polish American life in your community. This page will direct to the large Polish American community sites that are available on the internet. There are large communities of Poles around around the US, with exceptionally large ones in the Mid-West states. Polish influence in the USA is substantial as pointed out on the history page.
